I played around with embroidery as a kid, I think Ive fallen in love though with redwork, wanted to see how colorfast this floss and fabric were so I stitched up this leetle angel yesterday...so cute!

New Finish

Yay another finish....This is from a book I got at the library Cross Stitch for the First Time, by Donna Kooler. It will be given a home shortly as I plan to give it as a hostess gift to someone at the end of the month.

Yay for new Stash!

FINALLY...made it to my LNS! After a wonderful Relay for Life picnic outing today, I dragged my son with me to this wonderful little LNS Knit and Stitch in Cocoa FL, I didnt get too crazy, there was a class going on and I didnt want to be in the way, so I made my way throught the hundreds of charts and acres of wonderful fibers and flosses...even found a sweet little spider button to finish off a Lizzie Kate halloween ornie!

Daniel Flores' Art

This darling drawing is the handiwork of my dear friend Kathy's son Daniel. It represents what Daniel believes Florida looks like( he lives in VA), he was sweet enough to share his talent with me. I decided to try and duplicate it in cross stitch, and sent the finished product to him, which he really liked :)
It was my first try using Graph-X transparencies, it was fairly easy being the artwork had simple lines.

~Falling into fall crafts~

Since there is a hint of fall in the air in all parts of the country...well that is except here in sunny Florida, fall for us is it being less than 90 degrees! I decided to finished up and photograph some fall themed crafts Ive been working on here and there.

I really liked making the folded fabric pumpkin and ornament, I see the pumpkin fabric choice is really blah, I plan to check out some new stash at my LQS this week, I just know there is some gorgeous fall fabric waiting for me there!!

Yesterday was sew sew Saturday at my house, so I finished up the little felt magnet ghost and black cat. I plan to make a couple more with more embellishments, but these two are going to my nephew, so I want to be careful he couldnt pull off anything dangerous.

I really liked this scarecrow, I've had the pieces made for awhile and finally put them together.

And last but not least, I now have these little pumpins hanging on the fridge, I had these odd wood pieces in my paint box and thought they would look cute hanging together

Hardanger Lessons

Thanks to Dawn at Golden Angel Works I'm learning Hardanger, It's a little labor intensive (for those like me who hate to constantly count!) but the results are well worth the effort! I will be sweating a little when I have to cut the fabric however! Thank you Dawn for helping me learn Hardanger!! :)

New little Finishes

Finished stitching a couple of Christmas Ornies! I was flat on my back for almost a week, and boy I really felt guilty not getting my daily stitching in! Luckily my back is on the mend for the most part, and I'm able to get back on schedule!!

Some Moldy Oldies

~I took these out of mothballs about a month ago, still havent done anything with them, think I might frame the Apples for my sister in law, she has an apple theme in her kitchen, the sampler was one I made when I was having DS #2, and Home Sweet Home, I made the year I got married, the frame literally fell apart in our last move, and it no longer goes with the decor, I will probably put it back in the hope chest and look at it from time to time~

Mother's Love Needleroll

Saw this darling needleroll on Cross Stitch Happy's blog, and knew I had to make it! (Even though I made a few oops, I like the way it turned out!) :)
One I wanted to try a needleroll and two, wanted to make something to honor my mom, she has been gone for five years and I miss her very much, She taught me how to sew and stitch...she'd be in her glory to see all projects I've completed, and she'd love to look at the pictures on other stitcher's blogs

Stitchie Witchie

K.. So I put away Thistle Manor, so of course I had to start something else, still taking a break from my MIL's gift. So I decided to to print off Stitchie Witchie, from Brookes Books...she is so adorable! I made some minor changes, mainly because I ran out of, or didnt have certain colors. Anyway, there are many neat charts on Brooke's website and also on her yahoo groups..check them out!!

Grandma's Lace

Took my special basket down from its shelf today, to look at my grandmothers handmade lace. I like to do this from time to time, and was thinking about her today and it seemed fitting. She was wonderful at so many things, crochet being one of them. The lace trims here, were once on handmade linen towels, she and my Zia Antonina made when they were young girls. The bolt I'm guessing was to adorn a coverlet, someday when I make that full sized bed quilt, I hope to incorporate this lace bolt into it. I especially love having the pattern she cut from a 1953 newspaper for her lace making!

Update on Thistle Manor

Took a little break from Thistle Manor, but snapped this before I put it away, I guess truth be told, I got a little bored with it, I made a kit of it and will use it as a take along....
